For a sporty and creative summer at Lakou Bosco, with outdoor games, manual activities, and supplies brought by the scouts.

Hello everyone!

We are Celestine, Marine, Zoe, and Jade, four Scouts and Guides of France aged 18 and 19, and we form a companion team of the Scouts and Guides of France group of the Saint Michel parish in Versailles, in the Yvelines.

THE SCOUTS AND GUIDES OF FRANCESGDF)

The Scouts and Guides of France is a Catholic scouting movement (founded in 1907 by Baden Powell) born from the merger of the Scouts de France and the Guides de France in 2004. It is organized into 920 groups in France and 10 worldwide.

It has 100,000 members, including 33,000 adult volunteers and 67,000 young people.
The mission is to help young people grow into engaged, supportive, and responsible citizens. The movement offers outdoor activities, group projects, and reflection periods around different values, and is based on active pedagogy.

In France, the Scoutisme Français offers the experience of scouting according to one's faith. There are Protestant, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, neutral, and Catholic scouts and guides. Scouts et Guides de France is the Catholic association.

The Companions among the Scouts and Guides of France

The Companions are the 17-21 year old branch within the SGDF (Scouts and Guides of France). This age group is invited to live a concrete commitment in service of society through ambitious and sustainable projects, a collective achievement responding to a locally, nationally, or internationally identified need. This approach encourages autonomy, taking on responsibility, teamwork, and service to the common good.

OUR TEAM COMPANIONS

Dynamic, curious, and always in good spirits, we are above all a close-knit team, driven by shared values: solidarity, fraternity, sharing, and mutual aid. We are always ready to reach out and bring smiles to others!

Each year, we organize our camp around a worthy cause that is close to our hearts.

During the summer of 2025, we had the opportunity to live our project with the SOS Children's Villages association.

This year, for summer 2026, we will participate in a Chantier Emmaüs, whose values of solidarity and concrete commitment resonate deeply with ours!

OUR FAVORITE: LAKOU BOSCO ASSOCIATION

And for the summer of 2027, we will be welcomed in Guadeloupe by the association Lakou Bosco.

This will allow us to have a useful, human, and child-centered experience, bringing together all the aspects we were hoping for: good cheer, meeting new people, solidarity, sharing, and mutual aid. This will enable us to have an educational experience in the spirit of Salesian pedagogy, and thus live by the values of Saint John Bosco.

The Lakou Bosco association was founded in September 2020 in Les Abymes, near Pointe-à-Pitre, in Guadeloupe. Its name comes from Creole: «lakou» means the shared courtyard among neighbors, a space for common living and solidarity. It is an association that fights against school dropout and delinquency among young people. It uses a pedagogy of trust, hope, and alliance, based on Don Bosco's pedagogy. As soon as we discovered it, it was love at first sight for our entire team!
She works with children and adolescents, and supports over 100 children and 50 families, and her motto is: «It takes a village to raise a child»!
Every summer, for many years, one or more Scout and Guide de France Companion teams have lived an educational experience within Lakou Bosco. We thus place ourselves in this great scouting tradition.
Among the four of us, three have their BAFA.
On-site, we want to engage with people, organize street entertainment, and large games for young people, bringing them our energy and enthusiasm!

Our needs for the completion of this project:

To carry out this project, we are launching a fundraising campaign, particularly to contribute to our main objective: providing new equipment for the young people of the Lakou Bosco association, who need it throughout the year.

We wish to provide them with: school supplies, games, notebooks, pencils and markers, pens, as well as equipment for outdoor games and craft activities (clay, yarn, and much more!). As Baden-Powell and Don Bosco taught us so well, the pedagogy of play is often one of the best pedagogies there is.

Every euro donated will help us greatly!

Any donation exceeding 20 euros will receive a tax receipt allowing you to deduct it from your taxes. For a donation of 100 euros, the actual cost is 33 euros.

Every donation in kind will be welcome.
You can also contribute directly to the project, or if your company can provide us with certain materials as indicated above. Thank you. We can also provide you with a tax receipt for the in-kind donation.
Feel free to contact us for more information: compa.patrouille@gmail.com

We are certain that our enthusiasm for this project touches you as much as it drives us! See you soon! Célestine, Marine, Zoé, and Jade.
