Gwenaëlle's First Album: “Psalms, or Poems and Cries to God.”.
A young artist from the Don Bosco network is putting her career on hold to dedicate herself to music.. With her talents, she has embarked on the production of a small 6-track album, also called an EP. But be careful, she isn't setting just anything to music: psalms. For this, she needs you.
Gwénaëlle testifies
« For a very long time, I didn't like psalms. I found them violent and barbaric. «Accuse, Lord, those who accuse me, attack those who attack me,» says Psalm 34. I couldn't help but think of the famous expression: «An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.».
These texts, older than Jesus himself, put me to sleep when they were sung in polyphony over an organ background during Mass. Their words meant nothing to me, and I couldn't draw a parallel between these old poems and my life today. What's the point of singing them today?
One day, without really knowing why, I amused myself by setting a short verse from the psalm of the day to music on my ukulele. A process of taming and appropriating these poems then began... I improvise melodies on the psalm of the day with more energetic and rhythmic music; when I lead a service, I suggest composing on the psalm texts, and I bring along musician friends on this adventure. I sing with who I am, with what I understand at the moment. Doesn't God ask us to give him the little we have? And the more I sing them, the more I become aware of how well these psalms reflect the human soul, with its surges of sadness, despair, hope, and joy.
It has been 5 years now and some thirty psalms have thus been composed, and are now waiting to be shared, to join us in our lives. For this, I need your support.»

My name is Gwenaëlle, I'm 26 years old and from Normandy. I love nature, DIY, and of course, music! In my pocket, I always carry the tuning fork of faith, to tune my inner orchestra and to guide me on the path of life and love. Well, I try!

The project
Create a 6-track EP Psalms, to immerse themselves in their message through a rhythmic and engaging musical universe, accompanied by acoustic instruments.
