Help us renovate the National Shrine of Saint John Bosco !
On the occasion of the centenary of the Art Deco movement, celebrated worldwide in 2025, the National Shrine of Saint John Bosco, a listed Historic Monument, is launching a major appeal for patronage to fund its restoration.

A heritage in peril

Built between 1933 and 1938 by architects Dumitru and René Rotter, the Saint-Jean Bosco Sanctuary is one of the few Parisian examples of Art Deco religious architecture.
But today, leaks, cracks, and deterioration are weakening the structure and threatening its decorations. Without rapid intervention, this exceptional 20th-century heritage risks disappearing.

The disorders are structural and decorative:
- Infiltration and sealing defects,
- Cracks and degradation of concrete,
- corrosion of reinforcing bars,
- weakening of stained glass and claustras,
- degradation of interior decorations (mosaics, paintings, ironwork)

These pathologies threaten not only the architectural and artistic integrity of the building, but also its daily use by the residents of the neighborhood.

Discover the magnificent Reportage by Didier Morel, a journalist from France 3 Ile de France on our project, and the work done on our church by the DSA Architecture and Heritage of the’School of Engineering of Belleville. Their exhibition can be seen on the school premises, 60 boulevard de la Villette, until January 30, 2026.
