A year of human and spiritual formation.
L’Don Bosco School of Life, Established in the Sainte Marguerite domain in 1999, it offers a year of human and spiritual formation for young people aged 18 to 23. More than 30 individuals contribute to the students' formation: priests, monks, nuns, and committed laypeople. All are competent and enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and interpersonal skills with the young people. To understand the world they live in, deepen their understanding of the Church's teachings, and prepare to be responsible women and men, students have the opportunity to interact with and receive instruction from hospital doctors, notaries and lawyers, military personnel, economists, philosophers and theologians, and leaders of businesses and associations, among others.
For 25 years, numerous developments and works have been carried out to make the Domaine Sainte Marguerite accessible to groups. A hotel offering 92 beds, representing 4,300 overnight stays and 8,000 meals per year, has been very active for several years, offering a rejuvenating setting and accommodation to over 3,000 people. This hotel service helps reduce the annual cost for the young people of the Ecole de Vie, which now has 24 graduating classes and 177 former students.
Ecological concerns, a genuine desire to put the Don Bosco School of Life on a «Sustainable Environment» path, evolving safety standards, and unforeseeable emergencies have led us to significant expenses since July 2024. Furthermore, after 25 years of operation, renovations are necessary, such as painting the chapel and replacing gutters. While some costs may be covered by the association, we are appealing to donors and patrons to fund the expenses incurred since July 2024.
Our goals
1- Secure a crumbling perimeter wall and wood damaged by several summer storms: cost 8700 euros
2 – Install fire doors in the professional kitchen (request from the Safety Commission): 5200 euros
3 – Replace windows and doors of a large room with double glazing: 7500 euros
4 – Chapel renovation: 5000 euros
5 – Room renovations: 8,600 euros
